Common rubber expansion joints in waste water systems

If waste water is not treated effectively, the environment and human health can be adversely affected. Therefore sewage treatment is very important. Rubber expansion joints are used in all piping systems of wastewater treatment plants as well as on slurry and sludge pumps.

What kinds are common rubber expansion joints in waste water systems?

Because there are acid and alkali corrosive media in wastewater, in order to ensure the normal operation of the pipeline, as well as the service life of rubber expansion joints, choose acid and alkali resistant rubber expansion joints to use for a longer time, thus reducing the cost of use.

It is recommended to use EPDM rubber material expansion joint which is acid and alkali resistant, corrosion resistant and high temperature resistant when installed on top of waste water pipes.

With DN450 rubber joint, pressure joint, PN10; EPDM rubber is recommended for wastewater treatment projects with length 255mm, axial compression 25mm, axial stretch 15mm, lateral displacement 22mm.

How to install rubber expansion joints in waste water?

  • It is forbidden to exceed the displacement limit when installing rubber joints.
  • The installation bolts should be symmetrical and gradually tightened with pressure to prevent local leakage.
  • When installing rubber flexible anti-seismic joints on flat ground, overhanging or vertically, the actual working axial displacement pressure of rubber flexible anti-seismic joints should be less than the support force of pipeline, otherwise anti-pull-off installation should be installed to avoid working under pressure to pull off.
  • Rubber joints should be away from heat sources, ozone areas, and prohibit strong radiation light exposure. Exposure to the sun and the use of media that do not meet the requirements of the product.
  • Rubber joints in the delivery, loading and unloading, installation, prohibit sharp utensils scratch the exterior sealing surface DN200MM or more rubber soft connection manufacturers in the installation, please use the butterfly valve special flange or flange to avoid flange pull off, leakage, seepage phenomenon after installation.
